Marisela Loza is Jackson House Tulare's transition specialist/discharge planner. She attended Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA and took business and real estate courses. While her initial goal was to obtain her own business or work in the real estate world, she transferred to Visalia and changed her career path to social work. She began a career at Family Preservation Services and worked with parents who lost custody of their children and advocated for the families in court hearings.

Marisela then moved on to Aspiranet Adoption & Foster Care, providing in-home services to families in the community. She also retained a part time job on the weekends running domestic violence therapy groups. In addition, she accepted a position at BayMark Health Services in a medication assistance program as a registered counselor.

In July 2023, Marisela passed her counselor’s exam and received a certification as an SUD counselor.

Marisela chose Jackson House because she wanted the opportunity to experience and learn residential treatment/mental health. Jackson House Tulare offered the opportunity for her to enhance her skills and continue to work in the community.
